1. Once the suppository is inserted, the patient may feel the need to go to toilet. Encourage him to ignore it.
2. The suppositories are easy to insert if refrigerated.
3. The drug interacts with alcohol. Avoid drinking if you’re using diazepam in any form.
Diazepam Suppository –Advantages over oral administration
Diazepam suppositories are observed to be highly effective to relieve prolonged or recurring febrile seizures and convulsions. An experiment showed that those children who developed feverish cramps and seizures, when treated with oral form and the suppository form simultaneously showed no sign of recurring convulsions, while those who were administered with oral diazepam only developed recurrent seizures even after the treatment was completed. Diazepam suppositories have also been declared more efficient to relieve prolonged convulsions while repeated administration of oral diazepam showed no control over it. It has been observed that diazepam suppository reduces the chances of recurring convulsion during fever or epilepsy.

The rectal diazepam i have seen comes in a liquid form and seems to be dissolved in something like propylene glycol. I am not sure how it comes in this instance but if it isn’t dissolved in some al fef cohol and the other ingredients.
